Doing Hard Things and Taking Risks
Today, I'm going to talk about doing hard things and the importance of taking risks as a creator. This week was a SUPER busy week at my house. My kids are back in school, and my youngest daughter started kindergarten, or BIG SCHOOL as we refer to it, at our house :)
I had my quarterly personal/business review with myself last week and came out of it with many new ideas. When this happens to me, I am always so excited during the moment as I jot these ideas down, but when it's time to implement, I often never follow through. This time, I decided to change that. I want to do the things that scare me, and when I do, I know I'm working on the right things.
What scared me this week? You may think this is ridiculous as long as I've been a public figure and had my voice on the internet for almost two decades. However, what scared me was utilizing my other social outlets (Instagram, X, and LinkedIn) to promote and talk about my business. (Podcasts, YouTube Videos, Coaching) This seems silly to me as I'm writing this. What did I do? I said, who cares what people think? I've always worried about what my friends and family who follow me on social media will think; is it over-promotional, and many other excuses exist?
This week, I decided to start sharing my podcast episodes on Instagram and X and even LinkedIn when I figure that jungle out :)
Takeaway. Stop. Being. Scared.
Do what makes you happy, and who cares what others think about it? Stop reading the comments and negative feedback, and show up daily doing what you know will move the needle for your business/brand.
Quote Of The Week

What is something hard OR a risk you haven't taken yet that you know will have massive results and impact on your business/brand?
Weekly Takeaways
One | Journaling the Easy Way
I've always wanted to journal, to keep up and see what I was up to years later. There is always friction, whether with the tool I try to use or the amount of time it takes. I decided last month to change that. I made it simple. I use the native Apple journaling app, attach a couple of pictures each day, and speak into my phone using voice-to-t about what happened that day. Done. Takes 5-10 minutes towards the end of my day. It's been a game-changer.
Two | Focus On Needle-Moving Things and Not Time-Wasters
I had to focus on what matters to me and my business and stop getting bogged down by all the admin and tiny tasks that, yes, should be done, but not by me, and that should not take as much time as they currently do.
For me, the pillars of my business are as follows.
YouTube Channel /// Podcasts /// Coaching /// Newsletter /// Premium Creator Community
I want to delegate or stop doing it if it doesn't move the needle significantly in one of these five areas.
If you haven't already, connect with me on my social media. I would love to continue these conversations with you there.
