Set in Our Ways — Until It Stops Serving Us
Let’s be honest—most of us hate change, especially when what we’re doing kinda works. We fall into rhythms, build systems, create content, and tell ourselves: “This is the way I’ve always done it.”
But this week, I made a significant shift that challenged that mindset.
For years, my main YouTube channel carried my name. That made sense at the time—it was personal; it was me. But over time, that clarity started to blur. I realized I wasn’t building a personal brand there… I was building a resource.
So I renamed it: Think Tutorial. Clean. Simple. Clear. Because that’s what I want it to be known for—straightforward tech tutorials that help people get unstuck.
At the same time, I made another move: I rebranded my podcast’s YouTube channel to my actual name. That’s where I want people to connect with me as an entrepreneur, a creator, a coach, and someone walking this journey alongside them.
These changes might not seem huge to the outside world, but they represent a fundamental shift in how I view my brand—and more importantly, how I want others to experience it.
And yeah… it felt weird. Because I’d been doing things the same way for a long time.
The Wealth You Can’t Measure in Dollars
I’ve been reading The Five Types of Wealth by Sahil Bloom, and a section on social wealth stopped me in my tracks.
It’s all about the people around you. The community, the conversations, the support network that nudges you when you’re stuck and lifts you when you doubt yourself.
And I realized—that’s why I could make these changes. The people in my life—friends, fellow creators, and my wife—helped me see what I couldn’t on my own. They reminded me that growth often requires shedding what’s “fine” for what’s better.
That kind of support? It’s priceless.

Letting Go Without Losing Control
Another area I’ve been reevaluating? Delegation.
One example: I’ve been seriously considering hiring someone to take over creating podcast video thumbnails. Not because I can’t do it. But because I don’t need to anymore.
Designing thumbnails takes up time and energy that could be spent on more meaningful work—coaching creators, planning better episodes, or just being present with my family.
And let’s be honest… sometimes “doing it all yourself” isn’t noble—it’s exhausting.
So I’m exploring what I can let go of—not to lose control, but to gain clarity. And that’s a question I’d encourage you to ask yourself too: What part of your business are you holding onto that’s no longer serving you?
One More Thing…
Last night, I watched my normally quiet, introverted daughter—who's happy to stay behind the scenes—step onto a stage for her first-ever drama club performance.
She’s been working hard all year, quietly building confidence, rehearsing lines, and pushing herself far beyond what’s comfortable.
And in that moment, under the stage lights, she reminded me of something powerful:
Growth rarely happens inside the comfort zone. Whether it’s renaming a YouTube channel, delegating a task, or stepping onto a stage for the first time… it’s all the same story. Stretching ourselves. Taking the risk. Doing the thing—even if our voice shakes.
Proud dad moment? Absolutely. But also? A reminder I needed too.
She was an orphan in the play Annie. :)
