Where Is Your Time Really Going? Taking Back Control of Your Focus & Priorities

Where’s Your Time Really Going?

Hey there,

Lately, I’ve been doing a deep dive into something that’s easy to ignore—where my time actually goes. Not where I think it goes, but where it really disappears to.

Like most of us, I wear a lot of hats—business owner, content creator, podcaster, husband, dad. And the truth is, every minute I spend on one thing is a minute I’m not spending on something else. Lately, I’ve been noticing how often I let small distractions pull me away from the things that matter most.

A quick email check turns into 30 minutes in my inbox.
A "five-minute" scroll on social media somehow eats up an hour.
And before I know it, the time I could have spent with my family or on deep work is gone.

So this week, I started asking myself a simple question before I do anything:
“Is this worth my time right now?”

Not in a productivity-guru, hustle-culture way. But in a real way. Does this thing deserve my attention, or am I just reacting? Because if I don’t decide where my time goes, something—or someone—else will decide for me.

This isn’t about being perfect. It’s just about being aware. And honestly, even just noticing has helped me make better choices.

Also… Let’s Talk About Links

One of the things I did spend time on this week? Cleaning up old, broken links.

I finally made the switch to Genius Links after realizing I was losing money on affiliate sales and turning potential clients away with dead links. Not a great combo. This also led me down a rabbit hole to set up my Amazon links to work internationally.🤯

Links might seem like a small thing, but they matter a lot. A single broken link in your YouTube description, website, or emails means missed revenue and lost trust. People click, it doesn’t work, and they move on.

So, if you’re like me and have been putting off checking your links, consider this your nudge to do it. It’s not the most exciting task, but it’s one that can make a real difference over time.

What I'm Reading: 'The 5 Types of Wealth' by Sahil Bloom

This week, I’ve been diving into Sahil Bloom's 'The 5 Types of Wealth', a great book that challenges the traditional notion that wealth is solely about money. Bloom introduces five interconnected dimensions of wealth:

  • Time Wealth: Freedom to choose how to spend your time.
  • Social Wealth: Strong connections with others.
  • Mental Wealth: Purpose, growth, and mental clarity.
  • Physical Wealth: Health, fitness, and vitality.
  • Financial Wealth: Financial security and freedom.

A standout insight from the book is:

"The greatest discoveries in life come not from finding the right answers but from asking the right questions."

If you're interested in redefining what it means to live a truly wealthy life, I highly recommend giving this book a read. You can check it out here
